How fast can I charge my Aptera using different power sources?
Aptera offers versatile charging options, allowing you to recharge at different speeds based on the power source available:
- 110V/120V Standard Household Outlet: With a typical outlet (like those used for small electronics), Aptera gains around 13 miles of range per hour—significantly faster than most EVs on the same outlet, such as the Chevy Volt, which charges at about 3 miles per hour.
- 220V/240V Higher Voltage Outlet: For faster charging, a higher-voltage outlet (such as those used for dryers) provides roughly 30 miles of range per hour. While we’re finalizing exact testing numbers, lighter battery configurations may yield even faster results.
- DC Fast Charging (50kW): Aptera aims to offer DC fast charging, allowing you to add approximately 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes—perfect for quick recharges on longer trips.
In addition, Aptera will come with a charging adapter for flexible compatibility, so you can recharge nearly anywhere.
